Hoping for a new beginning after the disaster of a year by the Mets in 2009, it seemed like it was going well with the signing of Jason Bay. But lo and behold, the injury bug comes back and bites the Mets again. Carlos Beltran got surgery for arthroscopic surgery on his knee and will be out until at least mid April. On the bright side, the surgery was done now. However, this may be the start of a slow down in Beltran's production since he plays a speed position. Beltran still has two years left on his contract that is paying him a lot of money. This does not seem to bode well for the Mets.
On another topic, Omar Minaya didn't even give the press conference regarding the surgery that Beltran had. This seems like a restructuring is about to occur.
